Dress a Girl Around the World
A customer of mine approached me with a request that reached into my heart. Something we can all relate to, bringing respect and dignity to others.

Dress a Girl Around the World makes dresses for underserved girls that have little opportunity to have a new dress of their own, they now assist in 81 countries.
Dress a Girl Around the World is a Campaign under Hope 4 Women International (a 501 (c) 3 organization) bringing dignity to women around the world since 2006. Hope 4 Women International is a nondenominational independent Christian organization. "We dream of a world in which every girl has at least one new dress. We want girls to know that they are worthy of respect, and that they are loved by God."

Catherine's is proud to participate in this endeavor by collecting yardage to bring to an ambassador who will then make the dresses for the girls. Here at Catherine's we are asking for donations of yardage (min 1 yd) for dresses to be made. We will bring this yardage to the ambassador for Dress a Girl. Of course, you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to make the dresses yourself! Here is a link to their Dress page - www.dressagirlaroundtheworld.com/dresses-we-accept If you do make the dress, we will be happy to send it for you to the ambassador for disbursement. I have directions to make the dress if you would like to stop by the shop and pick up a copy. We will be working towards having kits available with directions.
Most of us quilters have excess yardage of wonderful cotton fabric. We are asking that, as you peruse your stash, you look for a yard of extra cotton fabric that would make a little girl happy. Thank you so very much in advance!
